Clouds covered the skies and the rain was threatening this morning when I woke up in Mobile proper, but of course that would not keep me from the first parade of the season. We loaded up and headed out about 10 to make the short trip to Dauphin Island. As we approached the bridge the skies cleared and the sun came out. It was as if Mother Nature herself was excited about the start of Mardi gras.
