The Isle Dauphine Golf Course, which almost closed a few months
back because of financial woes, will remain open at least through
Labor Day, according to the Dauphin Island Property Owner's Assoc.
President
Jack L. Gaines, II.
The pool and cabana at the course also are open, for a fee, Wednesday
through Sunday. The association's Board of Directors, in a March
22 meeting, moved to keep the golf course, the GulfView Grill and
club house (for special events) operating through September 3.
The island's golf course also was featured in the Spring 2012 edition
of Alabama Coast magazine, Gaines said. In a recent email to property
owners there, Gaines urged the group to support the attraction that
has been run by a volunteer staff since January.
"It is in all of our best interests to keep the entire facility
operating, open to the public and the membership," he said in an
email. "If you have not done so, please pay us a visit and support
'your' Isle Dauphine. Let others know we are open, alive and well."
